The Rubber Band Man

The rubber band man

Whose life is one prolonged & nervous breakdown

His personality held together with rubber bands

& chewing gum

With outstretched arms

As far as rubber bands will allow him to stretch

Pleads with an unknown suspected entity

“Where have I been all these years & where am I going?”

He meets the devil in his dreams

Dreams in his waking hours

Touches the real on occasions

& forgets to remember.
