DVD Screeners of Thomas Chapin, Night Bird Song are Now Available for a Donation
At long last, the moment an early version of the film has been seen by over 1,000 people already, with more to come in March and beyond. Watch this page for announcements.
After four long years in the making, Emmy-winning filmmaker Stephanie Castillo has successfully shown her first film screenings of Thomas Chapin, Night Bird Song in the East, and to great acclaim. In March, 2016 the two premiere screenings were shown to great accolades:
- In Thomas' home state of Connecticut, at Real Art Ways in Hartford, on Sun., March 6, some 200+ were in attendance. After the screening, the audience enjoyed a performance of the Chapin Brass Band Concert, led by Trio’s own Mario Pavone and Mike Sarin, and reuniting all seven A-List players for the Chapin Brass Band, directed by arranger Dave Ballou.
- In NYC, a FREE showing to the public on Sun., March 13 at SVA Theater to a full house of about 400 people. The crowd was moved and elated, many said they cried, but all were thrilled and stunned by the force and quality of the music and performances of Thomas on the screen.

More Bookings are Coming In, Including Internationally!
Requests are coming from national and international Festivals, jazz educators, schools, a variety of jazz and art venues, and museums who are hearing about the film and want to show it. It is being submitted to Jazz Festivals as well. By May, Stephanie will be taking the film to Europe for much-anticipated screenings in major cities where Thomas and the Trio played in the 80s and 90s.
